Bringing your email with you?
A little preparation makes a move easier. Use this checklist to plan your team’s transition.
Plan your setup- List the domains, mailboxes and aliases your team currently uses.
- Keep a backup of the messages and contacts you need to retain.
- Plan storage allowances and check settings for everyone’s email app.
- Agree on a changeover window and verify the new setup before retiring the old service.
A useful place to start.
A few checks for the moments that need a little attention.
My domain still needs verification
- Compare the record type, host and value in your DNS checklist with your provider’s entries.
- Review existing mail records before making changes.
- Run the DNS check after updating your records. Changes can take time to become visible to the server.
I can’t add another mailbox
- Confirm your subscription is active and the selected domain is verified.
- Check that the address is not already used by a mailbox or alias.
- Check purchased mailbox slots in Billing. If all slots are assigned, buy additional mailboxes before creating another inbox.
I can’t sign in to my account
- Use your portal credentials, which can differ from your mailbox credentials.
- Reset your portal password if you’ve forgotten it.
- If your authenticator is unavailable, contact your administrator. Recovery-code sign-in is not available yet.
A few more things to know.
Can I use my own domain?
Yes. Add a domain you own and follow the DNS checklist in your workspace. Verification reports the records the server can find.
Can I keep using my current email app?
MailTrum is designed for standard IMAP and SMTP clients, including Apple Mail, Outlook and Thunderbird. The Mail clients page provides the setup details.
What is the difference between a mailbox and an alias?
A mailbox has its own inbox and storage. An alias is another address that forwards messages to an existing mailbox, such as hello@ or billing@.
How much storage does each mailbox include?
Each mailbox on a per-mailbox plan includes its own 5 GB quota. Ten purchased mailboxes include 50 GB in total, allocated as 5 GB each. Existing legacy package allowances stay unchanged.
How are additional mailboxes billed?
Choose your total mailbox quantity in Billing and review the estimated charge. Additional mailboxes are prorated for the rest of your current term and activate after payment is confirmed. Your renewal date stays the same.
Can I stop renewing only some mailboxes?
Yes. Reduce your quantity in Billing and select any assigned mailboxes that should stop renewing. They remain available through their paid period. Confirming the reduction schedules those selected mailboxes and their email for permanent deletion at the term boundary. Export any messages you need first. Cancelling the subscription without selecting mailbox deletion is a separate action.
Can I change or cancel my plan?
Manage plan changes, scheduled cancellation and resumption in MailTrum billing. Available changes and their effective dates are confirmed before you submit.
How are payments collected?
When payment is available, checkout opens SSLCommerz securely. Mailbox subscriptions are paid for one term at a time; your payment method is not charged automatically.
